Sam - Suffered with back pain

If I hadn’t started with Helena, I think I would have still been suffering with back pain

I suffered from severe back pain but I thought it was something I had to live with…

After my first session with Helena, I came away knowing it had made a difference. The pain in my back that I thought was mine for life had reduced. Of course I thought it was too good to be true so I wanted to continue to see what would happen.

I have been practicing with Helena for months now and I’m truly dedicated to the cause. It has made the world of difference to me. It has reduced my back pain and given me strength and mobility. For that I am forever grateful. It’s been fabulous for my mind as well. Pilates has made me feel alive.

If I hadn’t started with Helena, I think I would have still been suffering with back pain and had to result to medication. As well as the perfectly tailored Pilates based exercises she has given me, I have also seen massive changes using the release techniques that she has taught me. I have severe nerve damage in my legs and feet and it has given me more sensation in my lower body – something I never thought could happen!  

I have recommended friends and family to see Helena too and they are now reaping the benefits of making Pilates based movements part of their lives.

My recommendation to anyone is to try the videos first and then contact Helena if you want a tailor made program and massive amount of encouragement and support. You won’t regret it.

Jenna - I Felt my body getting older

My flexibility has really improved I can now touch my toes, which I’ve never been able to do even as a little girl and I just feel stronger throughout my whole body.

 

My name is Jenna and I’ve been practicing Pilates with Helena for a while now.

I wanted to do something which would help me with flexibility and strength as I felt my body getting older and a few more creaks kicking in.  I’m 51 now and want to be able to keep active to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. I am a keen horse rider.

The thing that I love about Helena’s sessions are that she makes you focus on your body and you, it gives me a chance for an hour to check out how I’m feeling and how my body is doing. The sessions are relaxing but they also give you the option to push your body up to the next level, it never feels competitive or fast paced.

Helena explains the movements so well so I can really understand what I’m trying to achieve.

When I finish I feel relaxed, stronger and my body just feels like its been reset and ready to go again.

John - Back, shoulder & neck ache

I have less aches and pains and am a more flexible.

I definitively also have a stronger core which has improved my cycling, especially up hills.

I used to get back pain as well as shoulder and neck ache when cycling for more than an hour or two. I assumed it was part of cycling. 

I’ve always tried to keep reasonably fit, so before I came to see Helena I was actually concerned I’d find it easy and not do much for me – I was wrong! It was more challenging than I had imagined.

I’ve now been practicing for 12 weeks. My back hurts less and I have less aches and pains generally and am more flexible (cycling is notorious for shortening hamstrings). I definitively also have a stronger core which has improved my cycling, especially up hills. I doesn’t get easier, but you get faster.

I practice fascia release on my feet as well, which Helena introduced me to. It really helps to quickly release my legs and lower back, so I quickly ache less.
